Civoo is a private, independent service. We are not affiliated with any government body, and here is exactly what that means.
An independent service
Civoo is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or controlled by the Ministère de l'Intérieur or any French administration. We are a private, independent preparation tool (the publisher is identified in the legal notice). Only the administration delivers the official civic exam and rules on your residence permit or naturalisation.
Content we write ourselves
The exam's official questions are published by the ministry under the Open Licence (Licence Ouverte / Etalab 2.0), which permits reuse: we reproduce them faithfully. Every explanation, answer and translation, however, is written by us, independently. We copy no other prep site.
Verifiable sources
We rely on the official texts in force: Decree no. 2025-648 of 15 July 2025 and the order of 10 October 2025 for the exam format, plus the order of 30 December 2025 for exemptions. Many sites cite the wrong references; we make a point of citing the right ones.
Arabic and English: to understand, not to cheat
The Arabic and English help exists to understand civic vocabulary before the exam. The exam itself is taken in French, with no dictionary: our translations are a study aid, never a promise of translation on the day.
What we don't promise
Succeeding on Civoo does not guarantee passing the official exam, nor obtaining a residence permit or citizenship. We prepare you as well as we can; the decision rests with the administration.
